The Story Of Pain

Image
The thing about pain is that it demands to be felt. It demands you to open your arms and welcome it. It demands you to let it touch you, touch every single cell in your body, run through your veins like blood, like tears out of your eyes, before it truly leaves you. I guess accepting that you’ve been hurt and you are hurting is the first step to healing. Embrace it. Let it revel in every inch of your body and soul. That’s how you rebuild, that’s how you grow. And sorry to break it to you, but love, each pain is bigger than the one before, not in relation to the person but in magnitude. You can either run from it and oh, it’ll catch up on you faster than you think. Or you can bury your head in it’s lap, feel it, ache because of it until you become a more indestructible self.  I could write about pain and conceal it with beautiful expressions of language and make you think of pain as beautiful as poetry. I could trick you into thinking that it is beautiful to dwell in pain, ...

As Simple As It Can Get

You have nothing to prove to the world. Let that sink in. You could be the best version of yourself and there would still be people who would not like you, in-fact the bitter truth is, they don’t essentially have to.  You could be kind, compassionate, affectionate. You could care. For all I know, you could love with all your heart and it still wouldn’t be enough. But that’s okay. You have to understand the fact that you can be a good person, but not for them. And they can be a good person, an amazing person even, but not for you. Life’s twisted like that. Accept it, embrace the complexity of it.  So instead of pushing yourself to be the best for your parents, your brother, or your latest crush, be the best person for yourself.  Do whatever brings your soul at peace. Be honest, because that aligns well with your own conscience. Be loving, because you have so much love in you to share with the world. Go dancing, even if you suck at it, if that’s what ma...

It’s Cool To Care

Image
On the verge of an apocalypse, a rising tempest even, but if you look at him, you’ll see the happiest person you’ve ever witnessed .  He, here, is a millennial who’s trying so hard, every day, to give his life some meaning, to make himself feel worthy. He is someone who cries silent tears behind closed doors, someone who would rather suffer in silence than talk about the chaos inside. You ask why? Because apparently, in a seriously screwed and messed up time, it’s cool to not care. Not caring is now a sensational symbol of strength while all I’ve ever believed is that nothing, absolutely nothing makes us more human and stronger than to feel and accept one’s emotions. It takes courage. It takes courage to be vulnerable and honest about how and what you feel, without demeaning yourself, without belittling yourself.  In the facade of not caring, he tries to paint a picture perfect life, a life socially acceptable and applauded. But for whom really? What’s worth havi...

To The Girl Who’s Never The One

Image
Everyone addresses to the girl who’s always the protagonist, even of your story. The girl who every guy wants, the ideal one. The girl who catches the eye of the main man, the girl who can practically charm the guy she lays her finger on.  But you, nobody really talks about girls like you. The girl in the background. The girl who tries so hard, so damn hard, to be the one. For once.  You’re not the cute nerd who the most popular guy at school ends up falling for, neither are you that hot girl in school everyone wishes they were friends with. Then who are you? You are a little of everything. You live your life to the fullest as if each day were your last. You party, get high and have the time of your life. On the flip side, you’re someone who’s focused on her career, the girl who aspires to make it big one day. You’re also the girl who’s always there for everyone, no matter what. Mainly because you know how it feels to not have anyone by your side when it’s all downhi...

One In A Million

Image
Millions of moments, hundreds of friends. Countless sleepovers and night outs. Surrounded by people who you genuinely love, people who genuinely love you back, still, there’s this feeling of loneliness latched onto you, that won’t just go. Nothing is wrong, but nothing feels too good too. And honestly, that’s one of the worst things one can ever experience. You have no explanation, no reason as to why and how do you feel. It’s just a pit you sink into, a little bit, every day. You laugh because you ought to laugh, not because you genuinely want to. It isn’t wholesome. And you can’t help but wonder what went wrong. As human as it is, you just tend to push it under the rug and go seek happiness in people. Some comfort!   But what you fail to take in is that you cannot find peace outside when it’s chaotic and mayhem inside. Temporary comfort, temporary getaways; the escapes are just not permanent. You got to embrace this loneliness. Know that it will pass. That brig...
